"Chinese investors' footprint is spreading across five continents, focusing on not only 'going out' but also upgrading businesses to higher end of the value chain," said Loletta Chow, global leader of EY's China Overseas Investment Network, at a news conference on Thursday.

"China's reform and opening-up will be further strengthened in the future and the country will explore higher-level and more liberal opening-up policies," he said.

"Cooperation is a foundation for such a community," Yan said. "And culture plays a key factor in influencing international communication and diplomacy." The forum is also to eliminate doubt and confusion about China and contribute Chinese wisdom to the construction of the global governance system, he added.
